We are thrilled to welcome the illustrious Chris Dellorco to Pavilion Fine Arts Gallery. A rare native of Los Angeles, Chris grew up in the vibrant artistic community of Laurel Canyon amidst movie stars, famous musicians, and filmmakers. This unique environment nurtured his creative spirit, making his transition to a career in art almost inevitable despite earning a degree in Economics from U.C. Berkeley.
Chris began his career as an illustrator, becoming one of Disney’s top artists during the eighties and nineties. He was the talent behind iconic Home Video packaging covers for classics like "The Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast." His remarkable work in the film industry includes movie posters for “Conan the Barbarian,” “Revenge of the Nerds,” “Coming to America,” “The Firm,” and many more. Recognized for his excellence, Chris has won numerous awards, including the Silver Medal from the Key Art Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Artists For A Better World.
Transitioning from advertising to fine art, Chris now focuses on oil paintings and limited edition prints, showcasing his work in prestigious galleries and art festivals across the United States. His art has been featured in top publications and recognized with accolades such as “50 Top Artists for 2012” by Art Business News and “100 Contemporary Masters” by Art Tour International.
Chris’s artistic process is a blend of traditional and modern techniques. He often begins by photographing models and landscapes, using Photoshop to conceptualize his pieces before transferring them to canvas using classical painting methods. His primary subject, the female figure, serves as a vehicle to explore and express a range of emotions. Each piece tells a unique story through subtle gestures and dynamic poses, capturing the essence of human emotion.
Chris views his art as an exploration rather than a means to convey a predetermined message. He allows the creative process to guide him, discovering the meaning of each piece only after its completion. This intuitive approach ensures his work remains profound and authentic, free from premeditated concepts.
Join us in celebrating the arrival of Chris Dellorco at Pavilion Fine Arts Gallery. His innovative and emotive works promise to inspire and captivate, offering viewers a profound visual experience. We look forward to showcasing his extraordinary talent and unique vision.
